Kontome is a private social platform.

private social noun: Digital spaces designed for people who know and care about one another to connect, communicate, and share their lives privately.

A private social platform is built for sharing inside a trusted circle of friends and family, rather than broadcasting to an audience. It puts relationships, intimacy, and meaningful connection ahead of reach, followers, engagement, and public visibility.

That is the difference, and everything below follows from it.

What you get

Your friends. Newest first.

Every post from every friend, in the order it was written. Nothing is ranked, boosted, or held back.

Photos and video

Post what you took. We re-encode everything and strip the metadata, including the GPS coordinates your camera hid in it.

Real conversation

Comment, reply to replies, react. Nested as deep as the conversation actually goes.

Groups and events

Make a group for the people it concerns. Events are groups that know when they are, with RSVPs.

Just call them

There are no direct messages here. Your friends can see your number and tap Call, the way people used to.

It ends

When you have seen everything, the feed says so and stops. There is no infinite scroll, because there is nothing to fill it with.

How it works

Verify your number
Your mobile number is your account. We text you a code once, and then mostly leave you alone.
Invite people you actually know
You type their number, your own messaging app opens with the invitation ready. We never text anyone on your behalf.
Post something
Words, a photo, a video, or all three. Everything you post goes to all your current friends - there is no audience picker, because there is no audience but them.

Straight answers

Who can see what I post?: The people you have accepted as friends. That is the entire list. Nothing here is public, and nothing is indexed by search engines.
Who can see my phone number?: Your friends. Nobody else - it is encrypted at rest and only ever decrypted after we have checked you are actually friends.
Who can see my friend list?: You. Only you. Nobody can browse who you know, and there is no mutual-friends anything.
What happens to my old posts?: A free account keeps the last 20 days. After that it is permanently deleted, not archived.
Can I get deleted things back?: No. Deleted means deleted - there is no bin, no tombstone, and no restore. That is a design decision, not an oversight.
So how do you make money?: Not from advertising and not from selling anything about you. The plan is a paid subscription that keeps your history for as long as you pay. What is being sold is your archive, not your attention.
Do you track what I look at?: No. We count how many posts get made in a day, not who read them. There is no column anywhere that ties a view to a person.
Do I have to use my real name?: No. Pick any display name; your public name is that plus the last four digits of your number, like sarah-4417. We never ask your age, birthday, address, gender, employer, school, or where you are.
